Campus, hospital or office wayfinding map

Events are one week; a hospital, a campus or a head office needs the map every day. The pieces are the same, the emphasis changes: several buildings and many floors, kiosks that run for years, links printed in appointment letters and on room signs, and content that departments keep current themselves.

Buildings and floors

A Waygo map spans buildings: every floor of every building is a level with its own plan, and the levels are positioned on the real world so directions run outside as well as inside. Upload one plan per floor (Uploading floor plans); give the levels names people use (“Main Building · Ground”, “Tower B · 3”) in Map settings.

Content that departments own

Use sub-accounts to give each department its own catalogs while the map stays one.

Kiosks that stay

Put a kiosk at every public entrance, placed from the dashboard or by the installer from the screen (Set up a kiosk from the screen). Kiosks keep their link for years; when a wing is rebuilt and the walking paths change, directions from the kiosk follow the new paths without touching the screen. Vertical totems use the mobile layout (Vertical kiosk screens).

  • Appointment letters and emails: a place link to the department, or a directions link from the main entrance. With Bulk links every department has one.
  • Room signs and door plates: a QR code per room (QR codes for booths and rooms).
  • The website's “How to find us” page: the embed code (Embed a map in your website).
  • The staff intranet: a search link per service (“charging”, “quiet room”).

Accessibility

Directions use stairs, escalators and lifts between floors; an accessible entrances and lifts catalog marked as landmarks makes “nearest lift” a search away. The map is a web page, so browser zoom and screen readers work on it.

Frequently asked questions

Can one Waygo map cover several buildings?
Yes. Every floor of every building is a level of the same map, positioned on the real world, so search and directions work across the whole site.
How do patients find a department from an appointment letter?
Print a place link or a QR code for the department in the letter; it opens the map on that department with a Directions button.
Who keeps the map content up to date?
Your own teams, in the dashboard: each catalog is a table they edit or replace from a spreadsheet. Directory systems can push changes through the Content API.
Do kiosks need maintenance when the building changes?
No. A kiosk keeps its link and position; directions are recomputed from the current walking paths every time it loads.
