Map settings
Map settings is the one panel that holds everything about a map you can change yourself: its name, its units, the names of its levels, the floor it opens on and the suggested searches. One Save applies all of it.
Name and units

The map's address (its ID in the Details rail, for example acme-expo-2027) is not a setting. Links and kiosks in the wild point at it, so it stays as created.
Floors: level names and indicators
Each level has a name (“Expo Hall”) and a short indicator (“1”, “G”, “M”) of up to three characters. The indicator is what visitors see on the level buttons at the top right of the map; the name appears in search results and directions (“201, Expo Hall”).
Your Waygo team provides a default for each level when they build the map. Type your own to override it; the default stays visible underneath (“Default: Level 1”) and Reset returns to it.
Two maps can share the same floors, for example an English and a French version of the same show. Level names are per map, so renaming a level here never changes the other map.

Suggested searches are the fastest way to guide first-time visitors. Look at Usage → Top searches after your first day and promote what people actually type.
What you will not find here
Some parts of a map are built and maintained by Waygo: the floor structure (adding or reordering levels), the drawings themselves, the walking paths, the map style, the license period and the publish allowance. They show in the Details rail as facts; contact your Waygo team to change them.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I change my map's link address?
- No. The address (the map ID) is set when the map is created, because every link, embed and kiosk contains it. Ask your Waygo team for a new map if you need a different address.
- How do I rename a floor on my map?
- Open Map settings, find the level under Floors, type a new Name and Indicator, and Save. The default your Waygo team set stays available under Reset.
- What are suggested searches?
- Short search terms shown as buttons under the map's search bar. Tapping one runs that search. Set them under Presentation in Map settings.
- Can I make the map open on the ground floor?
- Yes. Set Opens on under Presentation in Map settings to the level you want.
